VCBR house staff hand-delivered money from abroad to customers
The Covid-19 pandemic has been having a strong impact on the global economy in the past 2 years, many large domestic and foreign companies/groups have had to downsize their operations, and the unemployment rate worldwide reached a record high. The pandemic has also had a strong impact on money transfer and remittance activities, especially many companies have to change their operating methods to match the social fluctuations caused by the epidemic. In particular, in Vietnam alone, remittance companies constantly have to narrow the scope and scale of operations. According to Mr. Nguyen Hoang Minh, Deputy Director of the State Bank - Ho Chi Minh City branch, the amount of remittances to the city in the past 11 months was estimated at 6.2 billion USD, surpassing the figure of 6.1 billion USD in the whole year 2020. The amount of remittances is still continuing to return, so it is expected that in 2021, the city will attract about 6.5 - 6.6 billion USD. In that context, VCBR has had a remarkable growth in remittance payment, an increase of more than 60% compared to 2020, entering the top 2 remittance companies in Vietnam, contributing to bringing Vietnam into the top 10 countries receiving the largest remittances in the world.
Dao Minh Tuan - Deputy General Director of Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam - Chairman of Vietcombank Remittance Company, said that VCBR was established with the task of exploiting remittances from abroad to Vietnam, perfecting the Vietcombank's product/services ecosystem according to the vision and strategic goals till 2025 to maintain its position as the No. 1 bank in Vietnam; become one of the 100 largest banks in Asia; one of the 300 largest banking and financial groups in the world, one of the 1000 largest listed companies in the world. Although it has only entered the remittance market for 4 years, now VCBR's activities have caught up and accelerated significantly compared to other companies in the same industry with a long history and operating experience of 15 to 20 years. Such achievements are thanks to the tireless efforts of the whole VCBR team to bring the best service experience, build a solid reputation and position for customers and partners. 02 awards obtained from GBM magazine are an affirmation and recognition of VCBR's efforts and achievements in providing market-leading service quality. However, the company is constantly innovating in its operation method to continue towards the upcoming goal of becoming the number 1 remittance service provider in Vietnam.
